How would we know where we’re going if we don’t know where we’ve been?

 
In a business where evolution and growth are both constant and essential, it’s important to reflect on where we’ve been… it determines where we’re headed.

WE OPENED OUR SECOND LOCATION IN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL

From the beginning, we knew that we wanted to bring coworking to several Chicagoland suburbs. There was (and still is) a need for more workspace for suburban professionals, and our mission is to provide that access—and to prove that coworking isn’t just an urban thing. Arlington Heights was the perfect choice, and it opened new doors to another suburban concept: a live/work/play model of coworking where the convenience of residential amenities meets professional and productive workspace. Flexibility & balance have always been a part of our model, so developing this suburban ecosystem has been exciting as well as rewarding.

WE EXPANDED IN GENEVA, IL

Adding a shuffleboard table was only a part of the fun for this project. After one Geneva expansion in 2016, we soon realized that the demand for a diverse range of workspace options called for yet another Geneva expansion. Fast-forward a few months, and construction was underway right across the courtyard from our other location, effectively creating a “campus style” coworking haven!

WE CONTRACTED TO DEVELOP OUR THIRD LOCATION IN FRISCO, TX

Frisco is over 900 miles away from our corporate headquarters in Geneva, IL. Naturally, such a considerable long-distance expansion is complicated… but we knew that it’s worth it. We felt the undeniable “click” when we visited Frisco for the first time, so we dubbed this city a “25N sister city” and have been in growth mode ever since! Our goal: take our brand to a place where our culture aligns and where our suburban coworking model feels right at home.

WE SECURED MORE SPACE TO EXPAND IN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS

Our live/work/play model had another opportunity to shine when another 4,250 sq. ft. became available for development in the same building (One Arlington Apartments). The new workspace is currently under construction and will offer fully-furnished private team rooms, dedicated desks, shared flex space, and an attached specialty café concept with a vendor-operated “Grab-and-Go” breakfast/lunch menu, specialty coffees/handcrafted espresso drinks, as well as uniquely-designed booths for dining while working. Pre-sale tours are now available and the space will open this Spring!

WE SHARED OUR SUCCESSES & EXPERTISE WITH THE WORLD

Our CEO and corporate team traveled near and far to share our experiences and strategies for introducing shared workspaces to the suburbs. We also collaborated with Steelecase, developer Stoneleigh Cos., and a coworking space friend, Common Desk of Dallas, to contribute to national conversations on workspace design, community culture, branding, and partnering with developers. A few of the highlights: the Global Coworking Unconference Conference in NYC (panelist); the Great Lakes International Innovation Summit in Grand Rapids, MI (speaker & panelist); Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP) CRE Converge Conference in Chicago (speaker); the GWA/NAIOP Office Evolution Conference in Brooklyn, NY (speaker & panelist); and a GWA live webinar for coworking operators curious about workspace design.

WE GREW OUR TEAM

It makes sense that, with 2017’s companywide surges in growth, we would also grow our team to accommodate our larger community… and we did! 25N Arlington Heights welcomed two bright, shiny-happy people to our community management lineup in November: Rheana (Community Manager) and Laura Sue (Community Associate). Back in Geneva, we also celebrated promotions: Lisa to the role of Senior Business Manager and Jordan to the role of Community Manager.

WE CELEBRATED OUR INCREDIBLE COMMUNITY— THE REASON WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO!

Acknowledging the individuals who call our spaces “home” is a year-round affair. It’s our members who make 25N the special place it is, and they deserve all the credit in the world for demonstrating the profound benefits of collaborative work environments. We watched as members connected and created new ventures, supported each other in developing existing businesses, pitched new ideas, developed educational events, and simply enjoyed each other’s company! This is what we mean when we say “we’re changing the way we work.”
